Somersall Rangers v Leabrooks Tigers
This was our first league game so it was a
mixture of excitement and nerves ,mainly from me! The lads
settled quite quickly and the early play was a battle for
the midfield, Leabrooks broke away with pace upfront to take
the lead after 5 mins, but Somersall kept their heads up and
continued to compete well. Then shortly after Leabrooks went
2 up, after a bit of a scramble. Again the lads didn't get
down and shortly before half time Luke Hobson pounced on a
lose ball to drill home a much deserved goal to keep us in
the game. Second half saw Dion go in goal and Callum go
upfront to partner Joe and again there was very little
between the teams with Dion pulling off some outstanding
saves and several chances just not going our way when
Leabrooks got a third. Again Somersall never dropped
heads even after we lost our midfield anchor man Euan to
injury and up popped Joe to fire a thunder bolt that the
Leabrooks keeper got hands to but couldn't keep out we were
back in the game again, with Luke Waller marshalling the
midfield and Tom covering every inch of the pitch the ball
broke to Callum out on the right he ran on into the box
and cracked in a low near post shot that that squeezed in
to level the game. A much deserved draw that all the lads
must take great credit for you all did yourselves proud well
done!!!! A game played in a great spirit from both sides
was the perfect start! |
